Santa’s Advice
To the Children of the World:
Christmas is coming and I need to send a letter from Santa to all the children of the world. Unusual yes, a letter from Santa, but it is important. Usually letters written by children, sent through the magical Santa Claus mail box, destination North Pole, is how it works, but not always. Santa Claus can write letters too. Yes, I am busy reading ALL the letters addressed to Santa Claus or Father Christmas, with a bit of Santa Claus magic, but I need to write this letter from Santa to you children about something important.
The first signs of Christmas appear right after another favorite holiday of children - Halloween. In the stores Christmas decorations go up, you hear Christmas music played, and see toy commercials on television. This letter from Santa says, “Children, do not get side-tracked.” This letter from Santa has an important all year reminder! Christmas toys and gifts are important, in fact, the elves are busy making toys right now for Christmas Eve delivery and I, Santa Claus, read all your letters, but we do it in the spirit of giving. I felt it necessary to write this letter from Santa to remind each of you that Christmas is not all about asking for things, but what you can give others.
Write letters to Santa Claus, drop them in the Santa Claus mail box for a North Pole postmark, ask for something special, it’s okay. Children , do you start with, “I have been good this year…”? In this letter from Santa I ask you, “HOW have you been good this year?” Do you think about and help others all year long or just at Christmas? I know it may be hard for children to be helpful, but not really. In this letter from Santa I want to remind all children that every time you help others, you earn magic check marks at the North Pole. Magic check marks on “The List” helps me KNOW you have been good ALL year. Are you kind to others, helpful, smiling and respectful? All these things earn Santa magic check marks at the North Pole. Mrs. Santa Claus and the elves love hearing how you children help others all year long, it brings Christmas smiles to all of our faces, which makes children even more giving. Then maybe I will write another letter from Santa AFTER Christmas thanking you for all you did this year.
Remember this letter from Santa children. Help others ALL year long! When I read your letters to Santa Claus each Christmas and you say, “I have been good this year…”, I will know that you are right! I will know that this letter from Santa Claus helped bring a little more kindness to the world. Who knows there might be another letter from Santa for you children who are going make Christmas happen all year long real soon in your mail.
Your favorite North Pole friend,
Santa Claus
